DAS version 1.53E
The DAS protocol has been originally designed with mainly sharing of genomic data in mind. Several extensions to the DAS-specification have been introduced over the last years which add support for other types of biological data. Here these extensions are bundled together and form the version 1.53E (E for Extended) of DAS.
DAS 1.53E is fully backwards compatible to DAS 1.53 and contains the following add-ons:
New DAS commands
- sources - the sources meta command to describe DAS sources.
- alignment - the alignment extension allows to share alignments of protein sequences, structures and chromosomes.
- structure - the structure extensions allows to share 3D structural coordinates.
- interaction - the interaction extension allows to specify molecular and protein domain interactions.
- volmap - the volume map extension allows to share volum map data
Variation of existing DAS commands
- genedas - the GeneDAS extension.
- maxbins - restricting the maximum number of features returned by a DAS server.
DAS stylesheet conventions
The DAS stylesheet response is quite inconsistently used. We adopted several conventions to ensure consistency between clients:
- histogram stylesheets - How to define stylesheets for Histogram style data.
DAS - annotation type ontology
- Ontology extension - Use an Ontology in the DAS - features and types responses.
